Evaluating the Potential of Interactive TV
Decipher provided an in depth analysis of the interactive TV landscape,
including an analysis of the current technical platforms, commercial contracts
and media opportunities available on the different platforms. The major
element of the project featured scenario projections of the long-term
role of interactive TV within the financial services distribution and
customer service model.

Development of a Consumer Content Proposition
Decipher provided detailed consumer proposition and financial modelling
for a new video on demand TV and Internet travel programme. The proposition
included content created in twelve countries and aggregated through both
a TV (DSL) and Internet portal.

E-commerce Business Planning for the Music Industry
Working with the audio division of a broadcasting company, (which distributes
fifty channels of music through digital TV accounts), Decipher created
a business plan for an Internet commerce extension to the existing digital
TV service, marrying Internet and interactive TV commerce and distribution.

xDSL Based Proposition Business Case Development
Decipher developed the top line business case for a potential DSL service
based on a proposition with three dimensions: television offering including
interactive TV platform and Video on Demand (VoD) services, PC based high
speed Internet access and telephony communications via a Voice over IP
offering.

Exploiting Digital Channel Initiatives
Identifying and evaluating potential digital channel initiatives through
a scenario planning exercise. The size and value of potential initiatives
were identified and business plans created to support their presentation
to the board. The project scope ranged from simple customer service initiatives
to fully-fledged new business opportunities and led to a series of detailed
project implementation plans.

A major gas, electricity and telco utility in the UK used Decipher to
develop their current entry strategy, positioning document and top level
consumer proposition for a new DSL based TV service to complement their
existing telecoms and utility business.

The project was part of a broader due diligence into prospective acquisition
targets within the UK video on demand (VoD) TV market as an entry strategy

Decipher developed the financial and content strategy for the launching
a VOD TV service in Iceland, based on partnership with existing European
VOD players.

Decipher provided detailed consumer and financial modelling for a proposed
DSL based video on demand TV service. The project involved predicting
relevant consumer propositions and the potential price points and revenue
streams available. Decipher also provided a detailed audit of the required

Developing A Digital TV Entry Strategy
Decipher created the board level analysis outlining the strategic, commercial
and technical implications of moving their Internet-based home shopping
service onto future digital platforms (including Digital TV, ADSL and
mobile phones). This piece of work provided a broad framework for the
decisions this company is now making in this area and has lead to a series
of detailed trials on each of the platforms concerned.
