It has been a busy first quarter for broadband TV, particulary with regards to (legally) acquiring TV shows and films via a web site. First came the announcement from Universal Pictures of a self-coined 'Download To Own' (DTO) service and then came the launch of AOL Time Warner's In2TV service. But while the former sees video downloads as an adjunct to the DVD model - aping what iTunes did for music - In2TV uses an advertiser model to offer free 'streamed' or 'temporary' content to consumers.
